Description

Worries that deployment might negatively affect other important life domains. These include primarily family-related concerns (e.g., damaging relationships with spouse or children or missing significant events such as birthdays, weddings, graduations, and deaths), as well as career-related concerns (i.e., losing a job or otherwise harming one’s career).

Sample Items

• While I was deployed, I was concerned about the effect of the deployment on my relationship with my spouse or significant other.
• While I was deployed, I was concerned about the safety and well-being of my child(ren).
• While I was deployed, I was concerned about losing my civilian job because of the deployment.

Response Format

4-point Likert (1 = Not at all; 4 = A great deal) with an additional option of 0 = Not applicable

Measure availability: Information on measures is available to everyone. However, the assessment tools themselves can only be distributed to qualified mental health professionals and researchers. We maintain measures developed by affiliated staff of the National Center for PTSD.
