Dr. Gibson's career interests include the comprehensive treatment of both psychiatric and medical illnesses, including chronic pain, in veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder. She has spoken on the hospital, local, community and national levels on posttraumatic stress disorder and other issues impacting veterans. Dr. Carri-Ann M. Gibson is currently the Chief of Special Programs (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Program, Trauma Recovery Program and the Suicide Prevention Team) at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital in Tampa, Florida. She is a board certified psychiatrist with additional certification in pain management and the implementation of prolonged exposure therapy.
