VA Puget Sound Health Care System

Dr. McFall is Director of PTSD Treatment Programs and Psychology Service at VA Puget Sound Health Care System. He is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Washington, School of Medicine.

He is a funded investigator on a number of NIMH and Department of Veterans Affairs grants, with research interests in pharmacological and psychotherapy treatment trials for PTSD.

He has published widely on the topic of tobacco cessation in Veterans with PTSD and he is co-principal investigator on a recently completed multi-site clinical trial of integrated care for nicotine dependence in Veterans with PTSD.

Dr. McFall has led national level educational initiatives within the VA that train mental health providers to implement tobacco cessation treatments for mentally ill patients.
