Debra Kaysen, PhDDr. Kaysen is a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Department at the University of Washington.

She has received grants from the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, the National Institutes of Drug Abuse, and the Alcohol Beverage Medical Research Foundation. Her research predominantly focuses on intersections between trauma exposure, posttraumatic stress disorder, and alcohol misuse.

She also conducts research on adapting evidence-based treatments for PTSD for use in developing nations. She has an active clinical practice specializing in treatment of PTSD, and PTSD with complex comorbidities. Dr. Kaysen is an international trainer in the implementation of Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD.
