STAIR can be used by a variety of mental health professionals including psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, psychiatrists, or clinical counselors. This training program presumes that you have had basic training in working clinically with distressed patients, and a sound theoretical understanding of cognitive behavioral principles.

STAIR is most beneficial for clients with PTSD or complicated forms of PTSD:

  1. Who have experienced a wide range of exposures to violence (e.g., traumatic military experiences, terrorism, sexual assault, physical assault, and childhood sexual, physical or emotional abuse).
  2. With a wide range of comorbidities.
