In the previous session, you helped your client create healthy boundaries using effective assertiveness behaviors and complete the Interpersonal Schemas Worksheet II. Your client also learned to use "I Messages" and, through role-play, learned how to make requests. 

Before proceeding, ensure your client has completed the between session work assigned from Session Seven. Verify that the client has:

  • Practiced one assertive behavior
  • Completed the Interpersonal Schema Worksheet II once daily after practicing assertive behavior
  • Practiced focused breathing daily
  • Practiced key selected coping skills related to assertiveness exercises
