Acknowledge that this is the last session of STAIR. Briefly review and recap the sessions with your clients and commend them on the work they have done in building their emotional regulation and interpersonal skills. Some things you may want to do with your clients are:

  • Congratulate the clients on their hard work and progress during STAIR.
  • Review the strengths and the progress your clients have made.
  • Elicit the clients' own thoughts about their progress.
  • Discuss areas in which your clients are continuing to grow and improve
  • Organize a set of recommended ongoing activities to support their progress and change. For example:
    • Complete Interpersonal Schemas Worksheet II three times during the week.
    • Practice Focused Breathing daily.
    • Engage in one positive thought or experience daily.
