Throughout this lesson you have been introduced to key aspects, techniques and tools for Session Eight of STAIR on Flexibility in Relationships. Key points to remember are:

  • The primary goal of Session Eight is to increase flexibility and range of interpersonal expectations.
  • There are three types of Power Balances in Relationships:
    • Type I: Each person has equal power
    • Type II: Someone has more power than you
    • Type III: Someone has less power than you
  • There is a three step process for saying "No" in each of the three Power Balances in Relationships
