App and Clinical Demonstration Videos

We have created two demonstration video series to help familiarize health care professionals with our mobile applications, or "apps," and to help mental health professionals integrate the apps into their clinical work.

App Demonstration Videos

These apps provide support and guidance for those living with PTSD and related concerns.

PTSD Coach: The PTSD Coach app can help you learn about and manage symptoms that often occur after trauma.

PTSD Coach en español: La aplicación móvil PTSD Coach puede ayudarlo a aprender y controlar los síntomas que a menudo ocurren después del trauma.

Safety Plan in PTSD Coach: There is a digital Safety Plan for suicide prevention within PTSD Coach. From the PTSD Coach home screen: tap the lateral menu (top left), then tap Safety Plan.

PTSD Family Coach: This app provides support for the loved ones of those with PTSD.

AIMS for Anger Management: AIMS (Anger and Irritability Management Skills) is designed to help manage problematic anger.

Mindfulness Coach : This app helps individuals practice mindfulness, starting with just one minute per day.

Beyond MST: This app was created to support the health and well-being of military sexual trauma survivors.

VetChange: VetChange offers proven self-help tools that build skills to help you stop or cut back on problem drinking.

These apps are intended to be used by patients in the specific treatment with a mental health professional.

CPT Coach: This app is for people who are participating in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). The app provides assignments for each therapy session, digital versions of worksheets, educational handouts, and assessments for tracking symptoms and progress.

PE Coach: This app is for people currently in Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy. The app offers breathing exercises, assessments to track and record progress, and an in-app recording feature that can be used in session. See Clinical Demonstration video below.

ACT Coach: This app is for people who are participating in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT Coach provides mindfulness exercises to practice the core ACT concepts of acceptance and willingness; tools to help identify personal values and take concrete actions to live by them; and logs to help keep track of useful coping strategies and willingness to practice.

CBT-i Coach: This app is for people who are participating in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). CBT-i Coach provides a sleep diary for convenient daily logging of sleep habits; assessment of insomnia, with a graph to view progress; reading materials about sleep and healthy sleep habits; tools to improve sleep, including relaxation exercises; and customizable reminders. STAIR Coach: This app is designed to supplement in-person psychotherapy using Skills Training in Affective & Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR). It also may be useful to people experiencing symptoms of trauma. The app includes readings, interactive tools for emotion and behavior management, customizable reminders, and quick links to support.

These apps help with related issues affecting people with PTSD.

Couples Coach: Created for partners who want to improve their relationship and explore new ways to connect.

COVID Coach: This app was created for everyone, including Veterans and Service members, to support self-care and overall mental health during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

COVID Coach en español: Esta aplicación se creó para todos, incluidos los veteranos y los miembros del servicio militar, para apoyar la salud mental durante la pandemia del coronavirus (COVID-19).

Insomnia Coach: This app was created to help improve sleep habits, to get better quality sleep. It is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).

Stay Quit Coach: Created to help people cut down or quit using tobacco products.
