PTSD 101 Courses: Home

PTSD 101 is a web-based curriculum that offers a range of relevant and timely topics related to PTSD and trauma. The goal is to develop or enhance practitioner knowledge of trauma and its treatment. Continuing education (CE) credits are available for most courses -- newer courses will offer CEs soon.

PTSD 101 is:

  • presented by a faculty of recognized experts in the field of traumatic stress
  • developed specifically for busy clinicians who provide services to individuals who have experienced trauma
  • appropriate for both seasoned PTSD professionals and those new to PTSD treatment or military personnel.

To access courses, go to the Course Modules page and select from the list of courses.

  • No need to register in order to take a course
  • No charge for either the courses or for CE Credits.

About the Course Modules

The courses in PTSD 101 are in Flash or PowerPoint with audio format. Each stand-alone course varies in length, but all take around an hour to complete. Continuing education credits are currently available for most of the PTSD 101 courses. Check the course page for more details. Each Course Module includes the following:

  • Brief description, goals, and objectives for the course
  • Flash or PowerPoint presentation with audio files (and transcript)
  • The instructor's biosketch

Course topics were selected after consensus from group meetings of expert providers, representing multidisciplinary perspectives from Department of Veterans Affairs facilities, the Department of Defense, and academia nationwide.
