Sleep problems are very common for people with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The CBT-i Coach mobile application (mobile app) is designed to help you develop good sleep habits and sleep better. This app is for use with your therapist to help you get the most out of CBT for Insomnia (CBT-i).
NOTE: PTSD is a serious mental health condition that often requires professional evaluation and treatment.
CBT-i Coach is best used when you are in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia with a health provider. This form of therapy is available at many VA/DoD and other mental health clinics.
When you begin treatment, talk with your therapist about using CBT-i Coach mobile app. It is available for iPhone, iPad. Coming in the fall for Android mobile devices.
CBT-i Coach gives you a structured program to get your biological clock reset to make it easier to go to sleep and to sleep through the night.

NOTE: CBT-i Coach can be used on its own, but it is not intended to replace clinical care for those who need it.
Any data created by the user of this app is only as secure as the phone/device itself. Use the security features on your device if you are concerned about the privacy of your information. Users are free to share data, but as the self-monitoring data belong to each user, HIPAA concerns do not apply while the data is stored or shared. If the user were to transmit or share data with a health care provider, the provider must then comply with HIPAA rules.
