I was able to open and share some of the trauma.

Individual therapy was the only way

I was going to get help for my PTSD.

Because it was so personal,

I didn't want to share it with everybody.

So, in order for me to step forward, I found somebody

that I felt comfortable with and had a connection with.

And then I was able to open up and share some of the trauma

that had had happened to me and work through the PTSD.

It took me five years to step out of

individual therapy into group therapy.

And I've found that group therapy

is very, very rewarding to me, to be able to share

and commune with other people who've experienced

the same traumas or the same diagnosis of PTSD.

I think the connection and the support system is what

has propelled me into doing better

and being able to function more in my life.
