Description

Current evidence synthesized in the 2017 revision of the VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline for PTSD supports trauma-focused psychotherapy as the most effective treatment. This PTSD 101 course reviews the updated recommendations for those who treat Veterans, including the use of shared decision making for treatment planning. The author describes the guideline revision process, and then focuses on treatment recommendations related to psychotherapy.

In addition to reviewing the psychotherapy recommendations and supporting research findings, the author discusses the clinical implications of the revised guidelines for providers treating Veterans.
