Biography
Dr. Stephanie Sacks is a clinical psychologist in private practice who specializes in the provision of evidence-based cognitive-behavioral treatments for PTSD, OCD-spectrum disorders and anxiety disorders. Dr. Sacks was previously a Staff Psychologist at the Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Trauma Services Program.
Dr. Sacks has been a Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD Trainer and Consultant since 2013 and is an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Sacks' research interests include implementation and outcomes of CPT, the assessment and treatment of PTSD with individuals with co-occurring concerns (i.e., serious mental illness) and the role of blame in recovery trajectories for survivors of interpersonal traumas.
She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami and completed her internship and postdoctoral training at the Washington DC VAMC. She is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, the International OCD Foundation and the Florida Psychological Association.
