Description

The process of transitioning to and from a combat deployment or leaving military service can be challenging under any circumstance. When a Service member or Veteran is experiencing symptoms of PTSD during these transitions, the process of reintegration can be much more complicated.

Goals and Objectives

This online course describes the stresses associated with different phases of the deployment cycle for Service members and their families. The author gives particular attention to the impact of PTSD on the process of reintegration following combat deployments.

  • Describe stressors associated with different points in the deployment cycle.
  • Identify critical challenges faced by Service members as they reintegrate following deployments.
  • Discuss ways in which PTSD can complicate the reintegration process.
