Description
Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) support the goal of improving care by promoting best practices based on the most up-to-date evidence. In 2023 the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense collaborated to update the Clinical Practice Guideline for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Acute Stress Disorder.
This online course provides an overview of the treatment recommendations for psychotherapy. It gives learners practical information on applying the CPG in their practice, describing the research that informed the recommendations, the process of recommendation development, and National Center for PTSD resources that support the implementation of evidence-based psychotherapy for posttraumatic stress disorder. CPG Workgroup member Dr. Jessica Hamblen served as the subject matter expert for this course.
