Trauma and PTSD Basics

Clergy members who understand the spectrum of responses to traumatic events may be better positioned to support Service members or Veterans. While anyone can be exposed to traumatic events, and go on to develop PTSD, Service members and Veterans are more likely than civilians to have experienced multiple potentially traumatic events. In this section, you can learn about risk factors, common reactions to traumatic events, PTSD, and effective treatments.
